Karla Prieto

President

Karla Prieto was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and is Salvadoran and Honduran. Karla immigrated to this country at the age of 3. She is married to Peter Prieto and has 3 adult children and a 16 year old in high school. Karla is currently the Diversity Procurement Advocate for nDataStor, a technology company based in Fairfield, CA. Karla currently assists with the development and direction of diversity procurement. nDataStor is a minority certified and family operated company. Karla is also a full time Realtor with C21 M&M and Associates in Solano county.

Veronica Diaz

Vice President

Veronica Favela-Diaz was born in Alameda, California, raised from Parents born in Durango, Mexico. Veronica is a graduate from Sacamento State University in Business and Spanish. She is married to Edgar M. Diaz and mother to three children. Veronica is Proprietor and Creator of Favela's Mexican Grill Since 1990 and Favela's Fusion Sabores de Mexico Alta Cocina Mexicana Since 2009. Veronica has won numerous Awards for her business like the"Best Burrito in the West Coast" Sunset Magazine. Most recent achievements include Readers Choice Award for the Best New Business of the Year Favela's Fusion 2009, Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Favela's Fusion for Outstanding Business of the Year 2010 and Winner of the Prestigious Hispanic Business Salute Award 2011

Maria Zuniga

Treasurer

Maria Zuniga, is a State Farm Agent in Vallejo. As an insurance agent, she takes pride in educating her policyholders on protecting themselves and their loved ones properly. Maria's goal is that when they are faced with a disaster, whether its an accident, an illness, a disability or a death, the family will be able to continue their current lifestyle. Maria takes educating her policyholders seriously due to her experience as a social worker prior to becoming an agent, and she is aware she cannot prevent a tragedy, but she can assist and help them plan to be prepared to handle the tragedy by being financially prepared. Maria is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master's Degree in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento with focus on families and children, and Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and minor in Sociology from Sonoma State University.

Denise Villalta Felix

Denise Villata Felix is a contributor and writer for LaVoz/The Voice Magazine; a bilingual publication that is distributed throughout Solano County and Napa. Denise is passionate about writing inspirational and informative stories that empower the local youth; and also highlights local businesses and non-profit organizations so that they can prosper in the community. She has an Associate's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management.

Jose G Rivas

Education Committee Board Member

José Rivas is currently the Program Director for the Solano County Educational Consortium, the Destination College Advising Corps and the AmeriCorps programs in the Center for Educational Partnerships at the University of California, Berkeley.  Mr. Rivas has over eighteen years of professional experience helping low-income, at-risk youth pursue their post-secondary educational goals.  José has provided consulting and training to various youth-serving organizations and has served as a presenter at regional and state-wide professional conferences.   In 2010 the Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce selected Jose Rivas as the Spirit of Solano Award Recipient.

David Gonzalez

David Gonzalez is currently an Independent Marketing Advisor for DotComSecrets (DCS). David has a deep rooted passion for helping small businesses as well as extensive business experience. His experience includes politics, business development, arts and coaching young people in sports. David is ready to help local business owners navigate the challenging intricacies that marketing on the internet presents.

Marisela Barbosa is CFO of Monarch Engineering & Developments an Engineering firm focusing in providing sustainable and eco-friendly solutions to commercial, industrial, institutional and governmental clients. She graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management.

The Board of Directors consists of eleven members including Executive Officers. The members of the Board of Directors, although volunteers, are active in the operation, management, and promotion of the organization.
