Motivational speaker and author Dr. Francisco Reveles to present a talk to inspire Solano students

(Fairfield, CA – April 15, 2015) – The Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, in association with Solano Community College, is pleased to present sought-after motivational speaker Dr. Francisco Reveles, who is set to deliver his powerfully moving talk, “Learning from the Corazon, from Survival to Success,” on Thursday, April 23rd from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Solano Community College, 4000 Suisun Valley Road, Building 1400, in Fairfield.

Dr. Reveles will share success strategies from a Latino student perspective and highlight the difference between being truly successful in life and not merely surviving. It will emphasize the importance of identifying El Por Que as it relates to our aspirations in school and life while utilizing culturally relevant humor and student participation.

“Our youth need to move beyond old habits and into positive new insights and motivation that will help propel them into a higher level of education,” said Andrea Garcia, President of the Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “We are fortunate to have Dr. Reveles talk to the community. He is a confident, engaging, and inspiring man who is making a difference in so many lives.”

Dr. Reveles, a professor and former Department Chair at California State University, Sacramento, in Educational Administration and Policy Studies, has conducted extensive research in areas relating to resilience and risk-taking in Latino youth with special emphasis on students/families living in at-risk conditions. He is a consultant to community colleges, universities, and public schools throughout California.
