Puente (Spanish for "bridge") is a national-award winning program with a mission to increase the number of Mexican American and Latino students who transfer to four-year universities. Since 1981, the Puente Project has helped thousands of educationally underserved students enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors to future generations. Participating students become part of a cohort of students taking English and Counseling courses. They gain study skills and tour local CSU and UC campuses.
